The METASPEED SKY racing shoe is designed to help you go faster by extending your stride length.
We discovered two distinct running types that we address as stride and cadence-type runners during our research and development. Stride-type runners take a longer stride once they start increasing their speed, but their cadence stays the same, whereas cadence-type runners also increase their stride when they run faster.
Since each runner type has different footwear requirements for their running shoes, we wanted to address both runners’ preferences by creating two versions that are tailored to their individual running styles. Stride-type runners wearing these shoes will be able to start fast and finish faster, thanks to the integration of an energetic midsole foam and a propulsive carbon plate that allows them to conserve more energy while maintaining their pace at the later stages of the race.
Constructed with the lightest and bounciest midsole foam that’s currently being used at ASICS, FLYTEFOAM Turbo cushioning is designed to provide excellent compression during the landing phase. As the foot enters the toe-off phase, this material quickly snaps back into its original shape to generate a responsive toe-off.
Additionally, the V-shaped carbon plate extends from the midfoot forward to act as a supportive element that helps runners experience better stability while lengthening their stride distance when they start increasing their speed. This component guides the foot, so the rebound that runners experience is transferred more efficiently in the forward direction.
The midsole construction, consisting of FLYTEFOAM Turbo cushioning, a carbon plate, and purposefully designed geometry, in the METASPEED SKY shoe work harmoniously to help runners perform longer strides. By enabling runners to conserve more energy, this shoe helps you during the later stages of your run or race and allows you to finish stronger.

The pressure is on smaller toes on outside of foot. -
How your foot contacts the ground
The outer side of the heel hits the ground at an increased angle with little or no normal pronation, causing a large transmission of shock through the lower leg.
